Welcome to the National Black Presbyterian Caucus website.  We are
committed to Jesus Christ, working to ensure that the witness of Presbyterians of
African descent is healthy, growing, dynamic and empowering; that racial justice is
integral in the church's self-understanding and lived out in every aspect of ministry
within the Presbyterian Church. Transformational church growth and leadership
development also remains a high priority for the NBPC.

On our website, you will find information about the Caucus -- Who we are, How we
can help you and/or your congregation, How you can get involved, highlights and
information past and upcoming events within the Regions, Chapters and across the
Church.  We want to share with you some of the benefits and opportunities for
ministry that await you by becoming members of the National Black Presbyterian
Caucus.  We hope you and your congregation will want to learn more about NBPC
and join with us for the betterment of God's works here on earth.

your feedback in the "Contact Us" section.

For Mother's Day, we find special ways to follow God's commandment to honor our mothers. The U.S. House of Representatives, though, will dishonor mothers across the United States by approving a budget that will drastically cut the Child Tax Credit, SNAP, and other vital safety net programs. This budget would take the Child Tax Credit away from five million low-income children. It would pull food stamp assistance from two million people completely, and reduce nutrition assistance for 44 million people. School lunch would be lost for 280,000 hungry kids.

These programs help mothers do their jobs - to provide for strong, healthy families. A Faithful Budget that protects these programs would honor mothers.

Keep mothers in your hearts and prayers and click here to tell the U.S. House of Representatives not to dishonor the millions of mothers who get a lifeline from these programs threatened by cuts this Thursday.

Grace and Peace,
Michael Livingston

Calling for Justice for Trayvon Martin

Many members have worn hoodies to church in memory of Trayvon Martin.  The emphasis is not to evoke anger and encourage bitterness but instead to allow people to openly discuss the issue and share their feelings.  We should continue to pray for the  justice in the Travon Martin case, for Trayvon's family and for the other family involved. We pray particularly for his family as they continue to grieve his tragic and unexpected death.
